WOW! Method #1 worked perfectly for me also! I am soooo HAPPY! Best Buy sent my phone off for an entire MONTH and it came back still broken! All Best Buy said they could do for me was send it back again for another month. The entire situation was just ridiculous! I was not about to have them send my phone off again for a month and it come back still not working. And they said it would have to be sent 4x's before they replaced it. Just crazy!

So my question is, how is it I was able to go online and find this EXCELLENT article on how to fix my phone myself but they couldn't?! Something aint right! But that's in the past now and I am soooo HAPPY!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

I have a Samsung Moment with 2.1 SW. The GPS works great with everything except Trimble Outdoors. I get a lock, but it will not track. It used to work flawlessly. I tried the trick above with no luck. I have also tried rebooting, uninstalling/reinstalling, older SW versions, all to no avail. Like I said, it works fine with all other apps. Any suggestions?

I used Method 1 to enable aGPS, and it thoroughly confused Google Turn-by-Turn Navigation: having aGPS on seemed to make the GPS connection very intermittent, so that instead of continuously tracking, it would only get a reading every 3 seconds or so. This made Navigation unable to figure out which direction I was driving!

Anyone else had this problem?

Fortunately, the default GPS seconds (no aGPS, hot start) seem to work fine for me.

For anyone who's confused about the meaning of cold/warm/hot start for GPS, this post was very helpful to me: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-titan/31457-gps-hot-cold-warm-start.html#post341627

Hey. Really nice advice, i've never seen method #1 posted anywhere before. When i type in *#1472365# it swtches to GPS setup. unfortunately, the moment it does so, before anything else, it says there was an error and the program needs to be force closed. I have tried this 4 times w/ no luck, and i've followed the directions to the letter. My phone is rooted with the new "Z-ROM" shown on the homepage of sdx-developers.com. No other alterations have been made, save a custom boot animation. I would try option 2, but the USB drivers on my pc are corrupted (i've literally tried evrything on the net to fix it), so if i have to re-flash the rom, i will be unable to, so i dont want to try that. This is the 3rd repair/replacement i've had from sprint, w/ no luck repairing the GPS. weirdly enough, the GPS worked perfectly on the first Moment i had, then just died instantly a couple months after i got it. No idea why. I just used it one day and it worked, the next i tried to open it and it didnt. cant even load the Sprint Nav program, or get any lock on Google Nav or any other apps that use GPS. it's been like that ever since w/ evry replacement phone i had, too. Any advice please? Thank you in advance.

Thanks. Method #1 worked perfectly for me.

I had upgraded to 2.1 a week after it came out and the GPS still worked. Then after using the then current version of Google Navigation about 3 weeks ago the GPS wouldn't work,

Now it's working again and I couldn't be happier.
